Administrative Positions
Gilbert Christian Schools is accepting applications for a K-8 Vice Principal at the Greenfield campus for the 2026-27 school year. The Vice-Principal is appointed to assist in the leadership of the K8 campus at Gilbert Christian Schools (GCS). The focus of the position is to provide leadership for the continued development of academic excellence in the classroom, while carrying out biblical ministry with teachers, staff, students, and families. The Vice-Principal assists the principal in the development of a positive school climate for staff, students and parents. This position is directly connected to the ministry and vision of GCS and is to be carried out as part of GCS’s mission to “Partner with parents to prepare the next generation to impact the world for Christ.”

Spiritual Leadership
- Provide leadership that demonstrates a deep personal commitment to the way of Christ
- Lead staff, teachers, and students to a realization of their value and purpose in Christ
- Ensure that the school campus work environment is Christian-based, nurturing, wholesome, and loving
- Provide oversight that ensures that all is taught and communicated is Biblically-based.
- Work with the teachers and staff to address the spiritual formation needs of the students
- Lead in a way that can be characterized by Galatians 5:22-26 (Fruit of the Spirit)
Academic Leadership
- Conducts classroom “pop-in” observations as directed by principal
- Evaluates support staff
- Year 2: Takes on any additional tasks assigned by the principal- MS operations for growth and development
Staff Evaluations
- Year One - Learns how to do evaluations and drop-ins as directed by the principal
- Year Two- Evaluates select staff members based on Principal/VP strengths and discussions
- Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Christian philosophy of education that will provide leadership and guidance in the school’s development of and commitment to a Christian worldview
- Have knowledge of the school’s curriculum, standards, and mission
- Ensure that integration of biblical principles and the Christian worldview occurs throughout the curriculum and activities
- Assist with the master schedule and teacher assignments each year, ensuring that teachers are qualified to teach assigned courses
- Ensure classrooms reflect a professional and Christian environment
- Have knowledge of the physical/emotional development of children and understand the problems they face.
- Assist leading the staff to focus on spiritual growth and student achievement
- Ensure that instruction employs GCS best practices/methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child—spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional
- Participate in continuous professional development through professional reading, college course work, in-services, workshops, and conferences
Administrative Leadership
- Oversees all events & operations
- Plans chapels with campus pastor
- Keeps track of the meeting schedule, looking ahead to see what trainings need to be planned, etc.
- Works with curriculum coordinator to facilitate MAP testing
- Have the ability to accomplish the goals and objectives assigned by the K8 Principal, Superintendent and school policy
- Develop leadership capacity among the members of your staff
- Help the staff, students, parents and volunteers function efficiently, effectively, and productively
- Understand supervision and how to lead in a positive manner
- Provide an excellent learning environment by promoting Godly student behavior
- Serve the team by faithfully contributing and being willing to serve your Principal, staff, teachers, students, and families
- Assist with the hiring of qualified teachers and staff
- Maintain a physical presence with the students by attending and, when possible, participating in school chapels, assemblies, athletics events, and other presentations
- Coordinate and implement standardized testing including communications with parents and staff about resulting data
- Assist with beginning-of-year staff orientation, staff devotionals, and staff meetings
- Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents, or staff.
- Speak with honor and respect of children, parents and GCS staff
- Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations in the classroom and school
- Inform the Principal in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any assigned duty
- Deal directly and frankly with the Principal in an earnest effort to resolve differences of opinion when they exist
Additional Duties/Responsibilities
- Creates and manages campus schedules for recesses, lunch, Driveline, etc.
- Creates and shares all meeting agendas with principal
- Plans staff culture (tribe games, blessings, etc.)
- Writes the weekly staff update email and sends it to the principal in a timely manner so additions can be made
- Writes the board report and sends it to the principal in a timely manner so additions can be made if needed
- Reaches out to staff for board report input
- Plans all Middle School events and communication (including Knights Days, Friendship Floats, First of the year MS Welcome Packet
- Plans Middle School Discipleship
- Signature Trips
- Coordinates and oversees Middle School STUCO
Outreach Drives
- Recognize the need for excellent public relations.
- Represent the school in a Godly and professional manner to the school’s constituency and the general public
- Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when on campus and as part of a seasonal production
- Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered office and ensure that campus is maintained according to professional standards.

- If the administrator has children of school age and they are not homeschooled by their spouse, it is expected they will attend GCS for the duration of their employment at GCS.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, walk; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
