Alumni Spotlight 🔦 Riann Darley | Class of 2013

"Hello students of Gilbert Christian! My name is Riann Darley, and I graduated from Gilbert Christian in 2013. That means it has almost been 10 years since I graduated, yikes I am getting old! After Gilbert Christian I went to GCU to become an elementary teacher, and soon found out that was not what I wanted to pursue. I instead became a manager at In N Out Burger and fell in love with flipping burgers, who would have thought? It was a great job and I ended up meeting my now husband there. We got married in 2018 and had our first baby girl (Blakely) in 2019! After we had Blakely, I stepped down to part-time at In N Out and went back to school for graphic design. I ended up graduating in 2021 with a graphic design degree from Sessions College. After graduation, I continued working at In N Out and was able to grow our family. In March 2022, we welcomed our son Jayce to the world! After I had Jayce, I wanted a career in my field, so I pursued a career at Sundt Construction. With determination and a hint of nepotism, I got the job! I am now a Proposal Specialist for Sundt’s Industrial West Division, and I help with business development.

My advice to the current students of Gilbert Christian is to pray and seek out an actual relationship with Jesus. I was raised Christian, but it wasn’t until I devoted time to Him and pursued a relationship with Him that I understood the significance and importance of being a follower of Jesus. The relationship between God and I is so much stronger, and He has helped me through the hardest times of my life. If it weren’t for His constant love and support, I don’t know where I would be today. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
