Dear Greenfield Families,
With the busyness of this time of year, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas- Jesus! Because of this we purposefully start each morning during the month of December focusing on the simple truth that the Light of the World came to dwell with us. As we prepare for the celebration of the birth of our Savior, we want to turn our hearts and minds to Advent: Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love. In the little moments this week, where we had opportunities to disciple the hearts of your children, we could reflect on Jesus as the true hope, who will return again for full restoration.
Our chapel message from Miss Johnson was perfectly aligned with this hope as she shared from the Sermon on the Mount- Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness. Here are a few short talking points from her message: How do we hunger and thirst for righteousness?
- In order to crave righteousness we need to have experienced it first. We experience righteousness when our eyes are opened to the hope of the gospel. Jesus takes on our sin and credits us with his righteousness. Once we experience this we want more!
- We must experience this righteousness, but we also must exercise it. When we exercise the goodness of God’s righteousness again and again, we will hunger and thirst for more.
We will realize that His righteousness is exactly what we need. He is our hope!
