Position Summary

Gilbert Christian Schools is seeking a part-time Spiritual Life Director for the 2026-27 school year.  The Spiritual Life Director is appointed to assist in the leadership of the high school campus at Gilbert Christian  Schools (GCS). The focus of the position is to provide leadership for the continued spiritual formation of the  student body while also contributing to the overall success of the high school. This position is directly  connected to the ministry and vision of GCS and is to be carried out as part of GCS’s mission to “Partner  with parents to prepare the next generation to impact the world for Christ.” 

 
Candidate must agree with and support Gilbert Christian’s Statement of Faith. 


 Leadership 

  • Have the ability to accomplish the goals and objectives assigned by the High School Principal, Vice Principals,  Superintendent and school policy 
  • Develop leadership capacity among the members of your staff 
  • Assist the staff, students, parents and volunteers to function efficiently, effectively, and productively 
  • Understand supervision and how to lead in a positive manner 
  • Provide an excellent learning environment by promoting Godly student behavior 
  • Serve the team by faithfully contributing and being willing to serve your Principal, staff, teachers,  students, and families 
  • Assist with the hiring of qualified teachers and staff when asked
  • Maintain a physical presence with the students by attending and, when possible, participating in school chapels, assemblies, athletics events, and other presentations 
  • Assist with beginning-of-year staff orientation, staff devotionals, and staff meetings 
  • Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about  children, parents, or staff.  
  • Speak with honor and respect of children, parents and GCS staff 
  • Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations in the classroom and school 
  • Inform the Principal in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any assigned duty 
  • Deal directly and frankly with the Principal in an earnest effort to resolve differences of opinion when  they exist 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 Students  

  • Oversee design and implementation of a quality program for spiritual formation including but not  limited to chapels, small groups, mentoring 
  • Work with the teachers and staff to address the spiritual formation needs of the students 
  • Coordinate with school leaders and parents to facilitate needed spiritual support for students who are  struggling  
  • Support community service efforts of students
  • Support spiritual formation of our student athletes 
  • Develop opportunities for students who profess faith in Jesus Christ to grow in their faith and impact  the high school campus and the district as a whole, including but not limited to teaching applied Christianity as a course at the HS
  • Acquire regular feedback from high school students regarding the school’s effectiveness at spiritual  formation 

 Faculty  

  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Christian philosophy of education that will  provide leadership and guidance in the school’s commitment to a Biblical worldview 
  • Have knowledge of the school’s curriculum, standards, and mission 
  • Work closely with the high school Bible department to maintain alignment between what is taught in  Bible class with all other activities associated with student spiritual formation 
  • Equip staff and parents with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide effective small group  experiences for students 
  • Acquire regular feedback from the high school staff regarding the school’s effectiveness at spiritual  formation of students 

Community: 

  • Develop relationships with local churches 
  • Develop opportunities for students to serve in the local community 
  • Develop and coordinate opportunities for students to participate in missions 

Campus Culture: 

  • Contribute to building a positive culture for students and staff 
  • Contribute to an increase in student school spirit 

District Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with the Christian Education Charitable Trust (CECT) and Stefan Wilson of the Colson  Center to provide Biblical Worldview training for GCS staff and other Christian schools in the Valley 
  • Coordinate all parent education offerings on all four campuses

Gilbert Christian Schools is accepting applications for a High School Counselor for the 2026-27 school year. The High School Counselor is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to students, supporting their academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development in alignment with the school’s Christian values. Job responsibilities include providing academic planning and course selection, maintaining student records, and assisting students in navigating high school socially, emotionally, and spiritually, with an emphasis on fostering students’ gospel identity. The counselor will work closely with students, parents, teachers, the counseling team, and administrators to support each student’s development and growth.

Staff Positions


This position is responsible for the assigned campus security as well as the overall safety of students and staff. This involves responsibility for monitoring and protecting each campus both during and after normal school hours. The primary emphasis in this position is to protect students, staff and families, as well as to deter vandalism, unlawful entry and unwarranted loitering on school properties.
