Agritopia 09.13.2024

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

On 9/11, Patriot Day, we were blessed to honor our GCS Agritopia first responders by hosting a special Meet & Greet in the elementary courtyard. We had 20 first responders in attendance who engaged with the students as they asked questions and were able to interact with some items the first responders use in their profession. The students had a great time, and we are thankful for the service of all of our first responders, including those of you who were not able to attend.

In grades PK-4th, instead of focusing on the events that happened on 9/11, teachers focused on honoring first responders and how they serve us each day. Since many of our students are too young for the topics of death and terrorism, we leave the weight of the conversation of the attacks on 9/11 and the loss of lives, to you, their parents. In partnership with you, we want to allow each family to determine how much or little you want to share with your young children.

In grades 5-8, teachers had an age appropriate conversation about the events on 9/11 with students in history class, with the focus being on God’s hand in the midst of tragedy. Teachers emphasized how our first responders and military acted selflessly on that fateful day.

Educating with eternity in mind,

CALLING ALL STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS

Have you ever wanted to start your own business? Well this is your chance! Applications for the Startup Club’s fall session are now LIVE!

Startup Club is a fun, faith-based extracurricular program that teaches students how to start their very own business. Over the course of 6 weeks, students will receive one email per week with a short and sweet video lesson and corresponding assignment. Lessons and assignments are designed to break down everything they need to do to launch their business in small, manageable steps—and it all culminates with a one day Market where they will launch their very own business—and earn a profit!

With the exception of one in-person gathering on 11/6 and Market Day on Saturday, 12/7, this Club is largely virtual by design—making it easy for students to participate in other extracurricular activities simultaneously.

Students in grades 3-8 are invited to participate, and may team up with a friend or run their business solo.

Not sure what it’s all about? Check out this video to learn more!

Space is limited! If your child is interested in joining Startup Club and selling products at the Christmas Market, be sure to apply HERE by 9/29. Please note, applications will be accepted until spaces are filled. Once filled, a waiting list will be started.

Questions? We’d love to hear from you! Email us at [email protected].
