High School 05.16.2025

From our Principal

Dear GCHS Families,

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final full week of the school year! As we reflect on the growth, accomplishments, and the year we’ve shared, our hearts are full of gratitude for your partnership, for your students, and for the faithfulness of God in every season.

This week marks a historic moment for our school as students have begun transitioning into the brand new building! Watching them walk the halls and settle into new classrooms has been a joy. This building is more than bricks and drywall as it represents answered prayers, diligent stewardship, and an investment in the future of Christian education. We’re grateful for the many hands and hearts who helped bring this vision to life.

As this school year draws to a close, may we all take a moment to praise God for His provision.

For such a time as this,

9th-11th Grade Finals

In elective courses, assessments are administered in class during the days leading up to the scheduled Final Exam Days. In other words, no elective classes will have final exams on May 20th, 21st, or 22nd. Final exams are administered in the core academic departments (Bible, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages) according to the schedule below:

Tuesday, May 20 (Half Day)

7:45-9:00 Period 1 Final Exam

9:00-9:10 Snack Break/Passing Period

9:10-10:25 Period 2 Final Exam

10:30-11:45 Period 3 Final Exam

Wednesday, May 21 (Half Day)

7:45-9:00 Period 4 Final Exam

9:00-9:10 Snack Break/Passing Period

9:10-10:25 Period 5 Final Exam

Thursday, May 22 (Half Day)

7:45-9:00 Period 6 Final Exam

9:00-9:10 Snack Break/Passing Period

9:10-10:25 Period 7 Final Exam

The Fine Print:

  • For periods when a student does not have a final exam, they do not have to be in attendance.
  • Example #1: If student does not have a Period 3 exam because they have an elective during Period 3,  they can be picked up after 10:25am
  • Example #2: If a student does not have a Period 4 final exam they can arrive at 9:00am.
  • Regardless of the time arriving or leaving, students should use the usual east entrance by the cafeteria and parents the typical driveline area for drop off and pick up.
  • If a student has no Period 2 Final Exam on Tuesday (because that is an elective for them), then they report to the cafeteria for a supervised study hall.
  • If a student is at school during any other period when they do not have a final exam (when they would typically have an elective), then they report to the cafeteria for a supervised study hall.
  • Once the exam periods have finished for the day, students should be off campus unless under the direct supervision of a staff member.
  • In order to maintain as much focus during final exams, students cannot be called out of class or dismissed from school in the middle of an exam period.

EUROPE 2026

We are thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for our upperclassmen next year, a 10-day Europe trip in May 2026, departing just a few days after graduation! This unforgettable journey will take students to Berlin, Prague, Krakow, and Budapest. The trip will be led by Mr. Noble and Dr. Mitchell, providing a unique perspective, connecting the historical significance of these destinations with biblical insights. It’s a perfect graduation gift or an amazing way to kick off the summer.

Join us for an informational meeting:

Date: Wednesday, May 14th
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: Gilbert Christian High School Cafeteria

Don’t miss out on this chance to explore Europe with your classmates and teachers, and from a Biblical perspective.

Please note: All students attending must be a current GCHS student or GCHS graduate of the 2026 class at the time of the trip.

SAFETY

Please drive cautiously when entering campus, especially by maintaining a safe speed. Due to ongoing construction, there are many blind spots, heavy machinery, and workers present. Slowing down will help prevent accidents and ensure everyone’s safety.

A NOTE FROM OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT

A huge shoutout to junior Callaway Conkright, who placed third at this week’s 2025 AIA Division III Golf State Tournament, shooting 1-under-par 143 in the arduous two-day competition. The Knights finished the championship round in sixth overall, and will return all but one athlete in 2026. The future is bright!

Track and field wrapped its season on Saturday night at the AIA Division IV Championships. Senior Addison Bisceglie picked up a pair of titles for the Knights, winning the 800m and the 1600m races. She also managed a runner-up performance in the grueling 3200m. Bisceglie will compete this weekend in the AIA Open State Championships. The meet, featuring the best athletes statewide, will be held at Mesa Community College.

Baseball’s year came to an end on Thursday in the state semifinals after a tough 3-1 loss to Valley Christian. The Knights, who graduate four seniors in 2025, finish the year at 16-5 overall.

Check out our website gcsknights.com or follow us on instagram (gcs_athletics) for all things Knights!
