PAY TO DRESS OUT DATE CHANGED to 8/14
One of the best parts of Gilbert Christian Schools is our community and the way we support and celebrate each other. In actively walking this out, we have made a slight change to our pay to dress out date next week. The dress out day will be moved from Tuesday 8/13 to Wednesday 8/14. That change allows us the honor of taking some time on Tuesday to welcome home the father of one of our students from his deployment to Iraq. Mr. Manchik returns after an almost year long deployment and we are excited to welcome him back as a community. We are asking that you send your child to school on Tuesday wearing RED, WHITE, or BLUE. This does not have to be a uniform top, but does need to follow the colors requested, and the modesty in our dress code.
If you have already made a payment for the original dress out date, that will automatically apply to 8/14. You do not need to pay again, or do anything differently. Parents – we encourage you to join us as we welcome home Mr. Manchik and express our deepest gratitude for his and his family’s sacrifice and service. Profits will go towards our mission of giving as well as fundraising efforts for student activities. You can pay for your child to participate HERE. Make sure to pay attention to the Dress Out Day dress code.
PARENT GATHERINGS
After dropping off your student(s), please join us for juice and pastries in the cafeteria from 8-8:30. Get to know other families and socialize with those you already know. We look forward to seeing you there.

FAITH AND FAMILY NIGHT
Each year the GCS PK-8th campuses attend the Diamondbacks Faith and Family Night. This year, that event is on August 9th from 6:40 pm-10:00 pm at Chase Field. Casting Crowns will be performing after the game. Come and enjoy the game, sit with friends and families from Val Vista and stay for the concert!

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
After school clubs begin soon! As a reminder, these are recreational clubs. They are not private lessons or tutoring, and they are not a continuation of the academic day. Please check with the club directly if you have any questions, including scheduling, payment, or observing classes. All observations MUST be pre-approved by the club before parents can be in the classroom. These are third party organizations so you will need to reach out directly to them for any questions.
CORE VALUES WEEK
Our Annual Core Values Week is coming up 8/19-8/23!! We will spend time as a school on each day’s core value and want to encourage you as a family to work on the Home Extension information that comes out as well! Be on the lookout for details here and daily posts on our Facebook Page.
