FROM OUR vice PRINCIPAL
Greetings Agritopia Families,
Mrs. Shue is currently traveling back from being at camp with our 8th graders for the week. As we move into summer with its long, sunny days and cherished family moments, I wanted to share a favorite resource that has been a blessing to my own family – one my parents introduced to me when I was a child: Adventures in Odyssey from Focus on the Family.
Some of you may already be familiar with this incredible audio drama series, but if not, let me introduce you! Adventures in Odyssey weaves together compelling storytelling, timeless biblical truths, and unforgettable characters into episodes that captivate listeners of all ages, kids and parents alike. I grew up listening during long car rides, early Saturday mornings, and weekday evenings with my sisters. And honestly, I still enjoy them just as much today.
What makes Adventures in Odyssey so special?
- Christ-Centered Content: Every episode is grounded in biblical values and Christian teaching.
- Age-Appropriate Storytelling: From curious preschoolers to thoughtful eighth graders, the stories speak to kids right where they are, and even follow up with thoughtful questions to discuss as a family.
- Family-Friendly Fun: Whether you’re traveling, winding down for the night, or just looking for meaningful entertainment, Odyssey is a great way to spend time together.
- Timeless Lessons: The themes, like honesty, courage, forgiveness, and faith stick with you long after the story ends.
If you’re planning a road trip, looking for quiet time activities, or just want to offer your children enriching, screen-free entertainment this summer, I highly recommend giving Adventures in Odyssey a try. You can listen for free through the Adventures in Odyssey Club (scroll down to “Listen on the Radio”).
From one listener to another, this series truly is a gift that keeps on giving. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine has!
