SAFETY
Please be careful when driving onto campus, especially in regard to speed. Because of construction, there are lots of blind spots, heavy machinery, and workers on site. Reducing speed when driving through will help us to prevent any unnecessary accidents or issues.
A NOTE FROM OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT
It is hard to believe that our winter sports teams played the final games of the 2024-25 regular season this week. Our talented boys soccer squad finished with a perfect 12-0 record, to claim the 3A Metro Region crown! Boys basketball also earned a banner, going unbeaten in league play (12-0) to wrap up first place in its region. Congratulations, Knights!
Conference play-offs are up next for our basketball and soccer teams. Boys soccer is scheduled to host ALA-West Foothills next week, on February 11th at 6:00pm, in round one of the 2025 AIA Soccer State Championships. The 5th-seeded girls program will compete the following evening (2/12, 4pm), against #12 ALA-Ironwood. Fans will need a ticket to attend both home matches.
Basketball brackets are scheduled for release this weekend, following the conclusion of regular season competition. Follow us on instagram @gcs_athletics for updates!
Athletics would like to formally introduce our new girls flag football coach, Corey Enman! Corey has an impressive resume, and we are delighted to announce that he will be heading up our very first flag program. His coaching background includes extensive success in both flag and tackle football. Corey brings a wealth of knowledge to the department, having experience at the collegiate, professional, and youth levels. Corey is a passionate leader with a vision, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the GCHS athletics’ family.
“I’m incredibly honored and excited to be the head coach of Gilbert Christian High School’s first-ever girls flag football team. This is a historic moment for our school, and I can’t wait to build a program rooted in Christ, character, and coachability. My goal is to develop strong, faith-driven athletes who compete at the highest level while growing as leaders on and off the field. These young women have the opportunity to make history, and I’m blessed to help guide them on this journey. Faith and family are at the core of everything I do. I am grateful for the support of my wife, Jo, and our children, Kade, Evan, Alexa, and Zachary, who inspire me every day. We are excited to continue being a part of the Gilbert Christian community and look forward to this incredible season. The future is bright, and I’m ready to get to work.” –Corey Enman
