We are excited to share an update on the Agritopia PK-5 Reading Challenge and announce an upcoming celebration! Over 100 students have participated by completing their Blackout Bingo, submitting book summaries and drawings for the Principal’s Challenge, or visiting the library. Congratulations to those who have received their first library cards!
There’s still time to join in. Students can complete their Blackout Bingo sheets, visit the library, and submit book summaries and drawings to the principals. The deadline for all activities is Friday, February 28th.
To celebrate the completion of our reading challenge and Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we’re hosting a special Reading Celebration on Friday, February 28th. Dr. Seuss was among the first authors to create books that early readers could enjoy, and we’re excited to honor his impact. Each PreK-5th grade class will enjoy Seussical-themed treats and engaging, age-appropriate activities.
We’d love your help to make this day a success! If you’d like to contribute, please consider making a donation by clicking the Sign-Up Genius link below. Volunteers are also needed to prepare Seussical treats and materials on Wednesday and Thursday, February 26th-27th. If you’re interested, please email Mrs. Romes at [email protected]. SPRING PICTURES
Spring Pictures are Wednesday, February 12th AND Thursday, February 13th. These are not free dress days. Each student will have their individual picture taken, as well as a class picture. Please note below which day your child’s grade level will be having their pictures taken. Teachers will be sending out communication for this as well.

KINDER CAP & GOWN & 8th GRADE PANO
The Kindergarten classes will be having their cap & gown pictures taken on Friday, February 21st. Kindergarteners need to wear their uniforms as usual. Parents who are interested in helping with Kindergarten pictures can sign up HERE.
All 8th graders will be having their individual pictures done and a pano will be taken of the class.
This is a free dress day for 8th graders. For dress code guidelines, please see the handbook.
DRESS CODE REMINDER
As the weather warms up, please make sure your child has appropriate length shorts. Shorts must be at or just slightly above the knee (4 finger width), modest length as per administrator discretion.
NEW FAMILY COFFEE & FEEDBACK
Thursday, February 13th, 8:05-9:00am in the AG cafeteria
We are inviting all families who are new to Agritopia this year to join us for our annual Coffee & Feedback. This is a time of fellowship with Mrs. Shue and Mrs. Ehlers and an opportunity to give feedback on your experience joining the GCS Agritopia family. Coffee and light refreshments are provided and younger siblings are welcome to attend with parents.

DIAPERS & TOILETRIES DRIVE
Our annual City Hope – Diapers and Toiletries Drive will be starting on Wednesday, February 19th. Below are the collection items for each grade level. All grade levels will be collecting diapers. There will be a collection tote at each classroom to place your donation items.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS
GCMS Spiritline Gold Cheer team continued their impressive season with another great performance at their second competition, securing an uncontested 1st place with zero deductions! Their final competition is on Feb. 21st at North Canyon High School.
AG/VV Softball team brings home the championship title after defeating Northwest Christian. This is the FIRST championship for GCS softball! Congrats to all our softball girls for a great season!
Spring sports are quickly approaching, and we are seeking a golf coach for our Agritopia campus to lead our co-ed team. If you are interested in this opportunity or know someone who might be, please contact [email protected].
