Principal’s Paragraph

Dear GCHS Parents,

We are thrilled to welcome 23 students from Kildevæld Efterskole (a Christian school in Denmark) to GCHS on Monday. This will be the second time their school has visited us on their tour of the States, with the goal of fostering fellowship and cultural exchange among Christian schools. Our student council is excited to build connections and show them what a Christian school in America is like. I am personally excited that our students will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with Christians from a different language and nation—a small but sweet glimpse into eternity.

Following Mr. Jette’s testimony last week (click here if you missed it), many conversations took place on campus about what eternity will look like practically and logistically. I overheard many questions such as, “Will Mr. Jette be able to hear? Will he need to? Will we all talk telepathically? What language will we all speak?” These conversations naturally led to more and more questions about what our experience in Heaven will be like. I have to admit, prior to two years ago, I was one of those Christians who thought eternity would be a perpetual worship service. However, a few books were recommended to me that broadened my understanding of what we can look forward to… and wow, am I looking forward to it.

If you, or your teenager, have found yourselves asking questions similar to those above, I highly encourage you to read Heaven by Randy Alcorn, linked here. Using scripture, the author paints a picture of what we can expect when we reach our eternal home. My prayer is that it will bless you, foster good conversation in the car, around your dinner table, etc., and have all of us waiting with eager anticipation for our Savior King.

For such a time as this,

SAFETY

Please be careful when driving onto campus, especially in regard to speed. Because of construction, there are lots of blind spots, heavy machinery, and workers on site. Reducing speed when driving through will help us to prevent any unnecessary accidents or issues.

Congratulations!

A NOTE FROM OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT

What a week! Our top-ranked boys soccer team traveled to No. 2 Northwest Christian, logging a 2-1 victory against the Crusaders on Tuesday evening. Caleb Barnett and Noah Cooper registered the Knights’ goals in the contest, with juniors Lief Littlefield and Nik Vranicic picking up the assists. The GCHS boys soccer team is 7-0 on the season! You can cheer the boys on tomorrow at home, where we will honor our 2025 senior class prior to the start of their 12:00pm regional match-up with Page.

Congratulations to girls soccer star Caprice Chiuchiolo, who solidified her place in the Gilbert Christian record books as the new all-time leader (men/ women) in career goals scored this week. She now holds records in goals (95), points (259) and assists (69) for the Knights. What an accomplishment! Be sure to catch our girls soccer squad in action at home tomorrow morning at 10:00am against Page.

Athletics is also hosting long-time rival Valley Christian in basketball on Saturday, January 25! This is a huge game for our boys and girls teams, and we hope to pack the house! The varsity girls are scheduled for a 5:30pm tip-off against the fifth-ranked Trojans, and our No. 1 boys squad (11-0) will face off against No. 2 Valley (11-1), in a rematch of last year’s state championship, beginning at 7:00pm.

We hope to see you tomorrow!!!
