FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Families,
Yesterday, we had a wonderful time with our Pumpkin Racer MADE Challenge for our Pre-K through 5th grade students. Last year, we introduced the MADE (Make, Apply, Demonstrate, Explore) program, encouraging families to engage in a STEM project at home that fostered skills in engineering and problem-solving, while reinforcing aspects of the scientific method which is taught in all science classes, yes even in kindergarten. The joy and fun outside this morning was palpable, as both the contestants and the student spectators laughed, cheered and engaged with the challenge. Thank you to all of the parents that assisted your children in creating pumpkin racers – they were extraordinary! A special shout out to our technology teacher, Mrs. Hoppal and our elementary science teacher, Mrs. Pasquariello for their planning and dedication to fostering a love of learning through the MADE program. Be on the lookout in the spring for our Boat Challenge.

The GCS Youth Pitching Camp allows players in 5th-8th grades to receive valuable instruction in the art of baseball pitching. Our goal is to equip pitchers with the tools they need to pitch at a high level. Players will go through a series of drills breaking down the mechanics, PFP (pitchers fielding practice), proper throwing progression, pick-offs, and the mental approach. Camp is led by GCHS Head Coach, Josh Bailey. Please reach out to Coach Bailey at [email protected] with any questions.
