Principal’s Paragraph:
The start of the school year brings the opportunity for new relationships, new knowledge and a stronger focus on Christ! I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for the welcome my family and I have received since arriving at GCS. We feel at home, even though we are the newest members of the community. Whether you are a new family to GCS or one with history, I pray that you feel blessed by the school and support our mission to partner with you to prepare the next generation to impact the world for Christ! As I encounter all the questions and situations that have been presented to me, I found refuge in a verse that spoke to me this morning during my devotional.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths.”

Chapel Recap
We kicked off the first day of school with chapel! Vintage Worship led the charge to worship the king. Following worship, Nick Ely of Christ Church Central Phoenix brought an impactful message to the students about what it means to be loved by God, preaching from Romans 8:31-39. He touched on four key points: Because I am loved by God…1. Opposition can’t defeat me (31), 2. Deprivation can’t deny me (32), 3. Accusation can’t doom me (33-34), and 4. Separation can’t destroy me (35-39). We encourage you to chat with you child this weekend about the impactful message.
Z-Hour at the High School
Z-Hour is every school day from 2:30 – 3:15 p.m. except Tuesdays (with a few other announced exceptions throughout the year). It is a protected period following the last period of instruction (Period 7) for students to get tutoring or additional help, make up missed work, meet with a teacher, or connect with a staff mentor prior to the start of sports practices or club meetings. For students who elect to stay on campus for Z-Hour, they must be under the direct supervision of a staff member in a classroom or office.
A NOTE FROM OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT
Welcome back from athletics! We are so excited to have our fall sports season underway. Our athletes have been working hard this summer, lifting weights, playing club sports, going to camps, running, swimming and getting stronger for the upcoming year of competition. We anticipate a lot of growth this year and can’t wait to see Gilbert Christian kids shine for the Lord as they compete in swimming, cross country, football and girls volleyball this season. We are also eagerly anticipating the encouraging presence of our spiritline during football games, and seeing all of our parents and fans in the stands again! For fall schedules and all things Knights, be sure to check out the official website of athletics, gcsknights.com.
