Principal’s Paragraph
Earlier today, I was blessed to have a meeting with a senior student who outlined his vision to increase spiritual life on the campus of GCHS. It was fascinating to hear about the ideas from a student’s perspective and I was blessed to hear how his walk with the Lord has been solidified as a student here at GCHS. We discussed Bible class, small groups and chapels and how they all impact the students differently. I asked the young man, “How can I help, and he simply said, “Do your best to show the love of Christ to every student, every day!” As believers, we can sometimes forget that it is that simple! Colossians 3:23-24, Whatever you do, do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of inheritance. You are serving the Lord Christ. I, as a Christian and leader, will do my best to follow God’s word and lead our team in a Godly manner.

Spiritual Life:
Spiritual Emphasis Week Part 1 – November 25th, 26th, & 27th
Our theme this year is “Cost & Crown.” During part one, students will learn about The Cost Jesus paid on the cross, and The Crown of righteousness he received. We are excited to welcome Costi Hinn and Aaron Shackelford from For the Gospel to bring the Word to students on Monday & Tuesday in a typical Chapel format, following our Assembly Bell Schedule (on Google Calendar). On Wednesday (the half day), students will have small group time, separate male and female Q&A panels, featuring strong Christian leaders in the community, as well as alumni who are serving the Lord. Vintage Worship will join us all week to lead the students to lead us in praise of our King. Students and staff are invited to Pay to Dress all three days of S.E.W. with proceeds going to a charity (E.F.A.- Empowering Future Athletes) run by our very own Senior, Owen Fermoyle! This is truly going to be an edifying time for your student as our speakers bring home the Gospel and help the student body understand The Cost and the Crown. You can purchase a Spiritual Emphasis Week shirt here. Shirts will be delivered after Christmas break.
Chapel Corner: This week, our Concert Band teacher, Mr. Griffin, spoke to the students about worship. Through sharing his testimony, he helped students to realize that worship is not about us, it involves checking our ego at the door, and that it is always good. You can watch Mr. Griffin’s chapel message (and all of our chapels) here.
