Principal’s Paragraph
The first quarter of the school is complete and the Knights are fully rested and ready to go for the second round! Our staff returned to campus on Monday and were welcomed with songs of worship, devotionals, and high-impact Biblical Worldview professional development. We also started a new tradition at GCHS with the 1st Annual GCHS Seafood Boil! Our teachers pour themselves into our students and community and they deserve every blessing we can give them.
We pray that your break was peaceful and you are eager to continue our partnership with you to prepare the next generation to impact the world for Christ!

Reception & Assembly: Any and all Veterans within the GCS community (grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) are invited to a school wide assembly & reception on Friday, November 8th.
- Assembly: Doors will open for Veteran & family seating starting at 9:00am. Students will join at 9:15a, and the assembly will begin at 9:20am. RSVP below.
- Reception: The reception, featuring coffee & treats, is for any Veteran in attendance as well as their family. This will immediately follow the assembly, and be held in the gym. RSVP below.
Action Items & Help Needed:
- You’re Invited: If you are/have a Veteran in the GCS community, we would be honored for you to attend the assembly & reception. Please RSVP here.
- Time of Honor: If you would like a Veteran to be recognized during our Time of Honor (they do not have to be present), please submit their information here.
- Wall of Honor: If you have a Veteran you want featured in the Wall of Honor, please pick up a star at the front desk and return the star by Friday, November 1st.
- Reception & Decorating Committee: We are in need of volunteers to help decorate the assembly space, set up/donate the refreshments & coffee, and help tear down. If you are interested, please sign up here and I will be in contact with you.
- Parking Spots for Veterans: Due to the construction that will be taking place on campus, we are asking Seniors and Juniors who drive to give up their parking spot for a visiting Veteran. This would mean they would need to carpool or be dropped off/picked up. If any Seniors or Juniors are interested in giving up their spot for a Veteran, please email Holly Garza directly. Thank you!
- Dress Code: We are asking all staff, students, and families to wear Red, White, and/or Blue to the assembly. Veterans in attendance, we would love for you to wear your uniform if you still have it!
Spiritual Life:
Chapel Corner:
- Continuing in our Passing Through: Elect Exiles series, Mr. Robinson spoke to the students about suffering. By diving into the text of 1 Peter 3:14-16, students gleaned that Christians are called to honor Christ as Holy in our suffering, be ready to give reason for hope in suffering, and ensure suffering by trusting in Christ. Students were challenged to trust God and lean into evangelism during seasons of suffering. You can listen to the truthful and encouraging sermon here.
Small Group:
- Small groups have been focusing on their identity in Christ. This week they were asked to identify areas over break when their Gospel identity was challenged, strengthened, and/or tempted. By discussing these real life situations, students are able to reflect on living their whole life for Christ versus compartmentalizing themselves.

The College Board provides the BluebookTM app, which includes practice digital test items, and a downloadable full-length practice test on the SAT Suite of Assessments: Practice webpage. Students will need to set up a College Board student account to access the practice test. It is suggested that students use an email other than their GCS one so that they will have access to their College Board scores after they graduate from GCS. (The sign-in ticket from your school is only used on testing day.)
A NOTE FROM OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT
It is difficult to believe that Fall Sports are winding down, and Winter Sports are on the horizon!
A HUGE congratulations to senior Addison Bisceglie for winning the 2024 Division III Cross Country meet on Wednesday! Our girls’ team placed fourth overall, qualifying for state on Nov. 2nd. The boys’ squad also earned a spot at the AIA Championships, with sophomore Asa Jones medaling for the Knights in 12th place.
Before the volleyball match last night, we recognized our swim and volleyball seniors, and we will honor our football and spiritline seniors tonight at 6:15pm, prior to the football game against league-leader Benjamin Franklin (7-0 Conference). Knight Nation, let’s all show up and cheer on our team, which sits in second place after winning three-straight contests! Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
Our very own Caprice Chiuchiolo made a huge impact in the 2024 U-17 World Cup on Tuesday, scoring two goals and dishing an assist to help her team, Ecuador, advance to the Quarterfinals which will be played this weekend (Sunday) in the Dominican Republic.
